Introduction

Bill Gates: As we look into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) plays a more and more important role in our new world of work. It has become one of the most WANTED SKILLS for the future workplace.
This interactive 5-day programme aims to help you understand and build, not only your Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills but also:
 critical thinking
 effective problem-solving
 leadership / management skills
 productivity management, and
 better conflict handling
to secure your place in your team.
We need to keep up with constant change and new skills that are required to better perform, no matter what position we hold.
In a recent article, Michael Hanly, the MD of New Leaf Technologies, said there are learnable skills that people can equip themselves for in the ‘new world’. He goes further to say that people need to be retrained

Apart from keeping up with technology, people need to be able to do the following:

Emotional Intelligence (EQ): helping people at all levels communicate effectively, manage stress, and build strong relationships.
Critical thinking and problem-solving are some of the most wanted skills for the future! Analysing information, identifying patterns and trends, and developing creative solutions to complex problems are a must these days.
Leadership and Management: navigate complex business environments, motivate teams, and drive innovation.
Creativity and Innovation: these are essential for companies looking to stay ahead of the curve.
Cultural competence: Understanding different cultural norms and values and being able to work effectively with people from different backgrounds is crucial in building strong future teams
Communication skills: not only written and verbal communication, but also the ability to listen actively and work collaboratively with others.

During this workshop, we will address each of these points, amongst others, with an emphasis on EQ. We will further demonstrate how leadership, through Emotional intelligence, is the process of leading others to achieve a goal. To get a better outcome, leaders need to understand themselves and their employees through emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence in the workplace helps you communicate better with your team and collaborate with others. Leaders without emotional intelligence cannot relate to or understand others, resulting in lower employee engagement and higher employee turnover.
This programme has been designed to spark thinking and encourage behaviours building both success at work and in life. Personal Mastery has been added to this programme to teach you to identify and work through the root causes of counter-productive behaviours. It goes beyond competence and skills to better perform in the workplace.
EQ Self-Assessment and Other Questionnaires
Before the start of the programme, delegates are expected to complete a few questionnaires relating to this programme which will be discussed and explained during the course of the programme.
